CONFERENCES

ALEA prides itself on being able to provide access to high quality conferences at national and state level throughout the country. These conferences are planned and run primarily by members working in a voluntary capacity. Members of conference organising committees are, in the main, practising teachers.  This ensures our conferences are planned and run by and for professionals who have a strong interest in literacy education.

ALEA has an annual national conference which is normally located in a capital city, systematically moving around the states and territories of Australia. These conferences are always well attended, and attract from 600 to 1200 participants. The programs feature internationally renowned literacy educators as well as Australian teachers, educators, researchers, and publishers. Most States also run their own local conferences on an annual basis.
