AI, writing and text production in primary and secondary classrooms

Have you wondered how AI might change the way children write and create texts? Is this something we should avoid or plan for? This professional learning will focus on the exciting opportunities as well as challenges that AI has created in the education space. There will be practical strategies for teaching children how to create texts with AI in ethical ways that enhance critical thinking and skills for navigating the future of writing.

Making Meaning Through Connection: Eight-Page Books for Multilingual and Multimodal Literacy

The session will demonstrate practical classroom strategies for Years 3–6, including creating translanguaging spaces, using multilingual mentor texts, positioning students as cultural researchers, and supporting students to compose identity texts that connect home, school and community knowledge.
