Each strategy is presented in a series of easily followed steps, and also suggests a variety of ways in which the strategy can be extended and adapted to meet the diverse needs and interests of students.Dr Coral Swan has many years’ teaching experience and especially enjoys seeing children blossom during their first years at school. She has worked with teachers and pre-service teachers in schools and university and has presented to colleagues at many workshops and conferences. In 2001 she received an Australian Teachers Prize for Excellence and a National Excellence in Teaching Award. She is still excited about teaching and is currently teaching Year 1 at Freshwater State School in Queensland.
